Field Day 2007

Date: January 3, 2008

Subject: Results

Date of Posting: Nov. 2007

This year The Stones River Amateur Radio Club held their field day activity at Veterans Memorial Park in Lavergne, TN. We had a total of 55 operators and visitors. The weekend was a great success and we had a very nice time. We had a carry in dinner Saturday and breakfast on Sunday morning. I would especially like to thank KG4JSR Virginia & KD4F Ingrid  for coordination those activities and all of you that brought side dishes and deserts. N4EIO and W3BIL shared the duties of chef, cooking burgers and hot dogs to supplement the side dishes brought in.

It was apparent that all there were having a good time and enjoying the music as well as the camaraderie.

Now for the operation information for the event:

As I stated earlier, we had a total of 55 operators and visitors at the park. We operated class 2A. These are the results confirmed by ARRL for 2007:

Though our score was less this year over last, we still placed well up in the contest portion of the exercise. We demonstrated good consistency compared to last year. We all know how hard band conditions were to operate. As we all know, this activity is really a “readiness exercise” for field operations as opposed to a full contest. The competition is added as an incentive for participation. Having said that, I also want to say again this year how proud I am of all of your efforts in helping to make 2007 another successful year. Now we can look forward to being even better in 2008.

Thanks again for a great Field Day
